Memorable, inspiring, even infectious,

Listen to these songs, and you’ll understand melody better. What can you create with your melodic instrument that people will remember? (piano, guitar, flute, etc)

Martin Garrix – Animals

Chaka Khan – Ain’t Nobody

Miles Davis – So What

Cyndi Lauper – Time After Time

Harmony is a little bit harder to hear if you don’t know what you're looking for, but you feel it. You definitely feel it. It’s when all the people stand together and sing their own note. It sounds like nothing else and often sits right behind and supports the melody. Listen to these songs and, more importantly, the voices. Listen to the tones and colors that the colors mix.

Experiment with harmony to build your music.

Prince -1999

En Vogue – Don’t Let Go

Mariah Carey – Can’t Let Go MTV Unplugged version

The Mamas and The Papas – California Dreamin

Billie Eilish – Lovely (feat. Khalid)

Next we will break down melody even futher. See you next week.
